1. How to Access blackboard douglas college

To access blackboard douglas college;

1. Open the College home page douglascollege.ca in your web browser.
2. On the top right side of the Douglas College home page, hover your mouse over Login.
3. In the dropdown menu that appears, click Blackboard Community.
4. The Blackboard Welcome page (login page) will appear (douglascollege.blackboard.com).
5. Click Login.
6. Enter your CNA (College Network Access) credentials. Your CNA credentials are the same ones you use to access a campus computer or Wi-Fi at the College.
7. Click Sign In.
8. Blackboard will open on the My Online Courses tab (also known as your “landing page”).
9. To enter a course, scroll through the My Courses module (usually found in the middle pane) to select a course.

To access the resources for students, go to Blackboard Community, then click on the Student Resources tab in the top green horizontal menu. There are 3 tabs at the top left of the screen: General, How-To, and Career Centre. Click each tab to view its contents.

2. How to log out of douglas college blackboard

To log out of douglas college blackboard, follow the steps below.

1. When you have finished your Blackboard session, click to log out on the top right of the screen.
2. The Blackboard Logout page appears.
3. If you truly want to end your SSO session, click Yes, end-all SSO sessions. By doing so you will be returned to the Douglas College website.
4. If you click No, do not end all SSO sessions, you will be able to access other SSO applications without re-entering your credentials. When using a public computer, always click Yes, end-all SSO sessions, close all browsers, and log out of the computer.

3. How to Change/Reset CNA Password | Douglas College

Your College Network Access (CNA) credentials provide access to the College computers & Wi-Fi, Blackboard, Office 365 & College email, U-Pass BC on Compass Card, Learning Centre website, Career Hub, MediaSite and Citrix. Since the CNA credentials allow access to so many services, it is important to ensure your login is as secure as possible.

 

3.1 Password Requirements

Your password must be at least 10 characters long and use a combination of at least three of the following: lowercase letters, upper case letters, numbers and special characters (!@#$%^&*()_+=~`. ). To make it easier to remember, use a passphrase — a sequence of words that may contain mixed case, numbers and punctuation (e.g. IamaStarTrekFan->LiveLong&Prosper! or Kierkegaard.in.Denmark.1813). If you are not yet using a passphrase, consider changing it to one now.

We recommend creating a strong and secure password or passphrase. Take the Password Test to validate the strength of your password or passphrase.

 

4. How to register for Douglas' Password Portal

If you ever forget your CNA password, you can reset it by using our online Password Portal. If you know your current CNA credentials, you can set up your personal email and/or SMS text on your cellphone to receive verification codes. Additionally, you can install the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone. This app provides an additional platform to verify your accounts. Students’ personal emails are automatically registered for the Password Portal. If you would like to register another email address, cellphone number and/or get Google Authenticator to receive verification codes:

1. Go to password.douglascollege.ca
2. Enter your CNA credentials, click “Login”
3. Add your personal email and/or ten digit cellphone number and click “Enroll”
4. If you would like to add Google Authenticator as an additional verification option, click the Google Authenticator tab and follow the directions to install the app to your smartphone

5. How to reset your CNA password

If you forget your CNA password and have registered for the Password Portal, you can reset your password on your own. Just remember, the reset will affect all services using the CNA password. To reset your password:

1. Go to password.douglascollege.ca or on the login screen on a College Computer, click “Reset your Password”
2. Enter your CNA user name in the “User Name” field
3. Type in the characters you see from the picture displayed, click “Continue”
4. Either select an email, cellphone number or the Google Authenticator option to receive your verification code and then click “Continue”
5. Check your email, text messages or the authenticator app for the code, enter it into the “Verification Code” field and then click “Continue”
6. Enter in your new password, then click “Reset Password”

6. How to change your CNA password

If you know your password, but want to change it:

On a College computer on campus:

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard, and click “Change a password”
2. Enter your old password
3. Enter your new password or passphrase, which must be at least 10 characters, including mixed case, numbers and punctuation
4. Click the arrow button to submit the change. Windows will confirm that your password was successfully changed.
5. Click OK to return to your desktop

On a device off-campus:

1. Go to password.douglascollege.ca
2. Enter your CNA credentials, click “Login”
3. Select the “Change Password tab”
4. Enter your old password
5. Enter your new password or passphrase, which must be at least 10 characters, including mixed case, numbers and punctuation
6. Click “Change Password”

Note

By default, password notifications are sent to your student email address; you can change your email settings to forward student emails to your personal email address.

7.1 Is Douglas Blackboard mobile?

Yes. The Douglas Blackboard app provides an intuitive way for you to interact with courses, content, instructors, and other students.

7.2 Douglas Blackboard Mobile App redirects me to the Blackboard landing page, instead of the Centralized Sign In page.

When you click “Web Login” on the Douglas Blackboard Mobile App, it should redirect you to the Douglas College’s Centralized Sign In page, not the Blackboard landing page. If you see the Blackboard landing page in a browser, please try two things:

- Clear the Mobile App data from the mobile device.

- If clearing the Mobile App data doesn’t resolve the issue, uninstall the Blackboard Mobile App and re-install it. It should then take you to the Centralized Sign In page.

7.3 I can’t access my course yet. When will my course be available?

Blackboard Douglas courses will be available to students on the first day of the semester. Please refer to the Troubleshooting Checklist. If, after that date, you still can’t access the course(s) in which you registered, please contact the CEIT Service Desk via servicedesk@douglascollege.ca with your student number and a course ID.

Courses that you're waitlisted in won't show up in your course list until you get a seat.

7.4 How do I search for a course in Douglas Blackboard?

• Once you login to Douglas Blackboard, go to the Courses tab on the left navigation bar.

• By default, you will land on Current Courses. You will see all your courses for the current semester listed under semester name (e.g. Summer 2022).

• From the Current Courses drop-down list, you can also choose Upcoming Courses and Other to see the courses that do not appear under Current Courses.

• To access a course, simply click on it’s name (For e.g. ACCT-1000-001_23456_202230).

Base Navigation refers to the features and navigation that appears outside a course in Blackboard. This navigation bar provides numerous features to look for grades, messages, announcements and lot more with one single click!
