Your myUTSA ID (abc123) is your primary student ID at UTSA. You’ll need it to log into almost everything here including UTSA ASAP. To access ASAP, you’ll first need to activate your myUTSA ID.

After you submitted your UTSA admission application either via ApplyTexas or Common App, you should have received an activation email from myUTSAaccount@utsa.edu to activate your myUTSA ID.

You will first need to activate your myUTSA ID, which serves as your primary student ID at UTSA.

Once activated, you will use your myUTSA ID and passphrase to log into just about everything, including your student portal called “ASAP” (pronounced “a-sap”).

As of Monday, October 4, your UTSA-issued my.utsa.edu gmail account has been rendered read-only. 

At any time, you can log in to gmail with your abc123@my.utsa.edu and UTSA passphrase to re-read your emails and access your Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc).

Once you have activated your new email account, you will be able to migrate any data from Google to your new Office 365 account or other cloud storage or personal device of your choice.

UTSA Email 
The official means of student communications at UTSA is through email. Each student is issued a UTSA email address ending in @my.utsa.edu.

UTSA will use your @my.utsa.edu email address to communicate with all enrolled students, including important information such as financial aid, registration, payment deadlines, bills, grades and more. Students can see what their UTSA email address is (formatted firstname.lastname@my.utsa.edu) by logging into their ASAP account and clicking on the main menu page.

For new students, UTSA can start to send communications to the UTSA email address as early as once you sign up for Orientation or register for classes at UTSA. Once students are fully enrolled, UTSA will exclusively send all email communications to the student’s UTSA email address.

Students must check their UTSA email accounts regularly (daily is suggested), and not having seen an important UTSA email message from a faculty member other University administrator or administrative office is not accepted as an excuse for failure to take an important action.
