NOVAConnect, the VCCS SIS: Student Information System; Canvas, the online course management system, and the student email system are administered by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). The same username and password are used to access each of them. If you do not know your Username follow the directions below.

If you stop attending or withdraw using NOVAConnect after the 60 percent date, you will receive a “U” or “F” in the course.

17.11 What if I decide to audit a class?

You may take a class without taking exams or receiving a grade by auditing the class. You will be charged the regular tuition. In order to audit a class, you must complete the Auditing a Class Form (125–012) and have it signed by your instructor and the division dean. The Student Services Center must receive the signed form by the last day to drop with a refund (census date). The form includes complete details on the audit process. The course will be listed on your transcript with a grade of “X.”

17.12 What if I want to change my schedule?

You may make schedule changes by using NOVAConnect. However, after the schedule adjustment period has passed, your ability to add a class is restricted. If you have documented mitigating circumstances that impacted your ability to register on time, you will need to complete a Change of Section Request After Schedule Adjustment Period Form (125-014) and submit supporting documentation to the appropriate academic division dean for approval. You are permitted to drop your courses at any time in accordance with NOVA’s Academic Calendar. You should carefully consider your options before dropping a course. These instructions will help you change your password for NOVAConnect, Student Email and Canvas. The same username and password are used for all three services, so when you Change Password/Reset Password.

1. Click on the MyNOVA tab on the NOVA home page.
2. Click on the Green MyNova button.
3. Enter your Username and Password and click Log In.
4. Click Account Details in the upper right of the window.
5. Click the Change your Password button
6. Enter a new password that meets the security standards found on the right side of the page:

• At least one UPPERCASE letter
• At least one lowercase letter
• At least one number (0-9)
• At least one special character (e.g.` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + { } [ ] - \ / ? : ' ,)

7. Press the OK button

How to find your NOVAConnect username?

NOVAConnect, the VCCS SIS: Student Information System; Canvas, the online course management system and the student email system are administered by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). The same username and password are used to access each of them. If you do not know your Username follow the directions below.

1. Click on the gold MyNOVA tab on the NOVA home page.
2. Click the green MyNova button.
3. When the new page appears. Click on Forgot Username link.
4. In the first section enter your First Name, Last Name, and DOB(MMDDYY). In the second section you can now choose to enter either your EMPLID or SSN. In the third section you can now choose to enter any of the following: Faculty/Staff Email, Phone Number, and EMLID or SSN (If not already entered in the previous section)
5. Click the Search button
6. If the information you entered is correct and present in your SIS profile, your username will appear.

How to sign in to mynova?

To sign in to myNOVA;

1. Go to www.nvcc.edu.
2. Click My NOVA.
3. Enter your username and password.
4. Click Log In.
5. Click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

How do I log in to mynova?

How to make a payment in mynova?

To make a payment;

1. Go to www.nvcc.edu.
2. Click My NOVA.
3. Click Log in.
4. Click Self Service.
5. Click Student Center. Scroll down to the Finances section.
6. To pay your balance via the web, click Go to QuikPAY.
7. On the QuikPAY website, click Make a Payment.
8. Enter credit card payment information.
9. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: DO NOT double click as payment could be submitted twice.
