2. How to access your courses on eCentennial

After an instructor has uploaded a file to eCentennial, any student enrolled in the course can access it.

  1. Log into e.centennialcollege.ca 
  2. Click Content in the top bar.
  3. Content for the entire course (for example, a course outline) will appear at the top of the page.
  4. To view the content for a specific week, choose the week from the side menu.
  5. Click the title of the file to open it.
  6. You can pin your semester courses to easily access them.
  7. Also, you can use ReadSpeaker, which allows you to “listen” to course content on eCentennial.


Take note of these terms.

  • Asynchronous

Asynchronous is anytime entry into the course through the learning management system used by the College (eCentennial). This is the space where you find the materials to study, discussion places, group dialogue spaces (if there is one for your course) and other activities. You can log in and work in this space at any time. Identified on your timetable as “TBA” (no assigned times) courses.

  • Synchronous:

Synchronous refers to a live online class, accessed through the learning management system used by the College (eCentennial), where your professor asks you to “attend” at a specific date(s) and time(s). There is a schedule for these sessions.

3. New students login to eCentennial

After accepting your Offer of Admission from Centennial College, you will be emailed a student number and a temporary password. Use this information to log on to my.centennialcollege.ca.

After you log in, you will be prompted to fill out your password and enter some personal information.

You will then be able to log on to eCentennial by clicking the eCentennial button on your myCentennial homepage or by navigating to e.centennialcollege.ca.

You will not access any courses on eCentennial until you are officially registered in your program for your first semester.

4. Quizzes, assignments and grades

After studying the course materials, you can submit assessments through eCentennial. You can also take quizzes and see your grades using the Learning Management System.


5. How to take a quiz on eCentennial

To take a quiz on eCentennial, follow the steps below;

At Centennial College, instructors can add quizzes directly to eCentennial, giving you a chance to assess your learning. Make sure to note the date and time the quiz will expire – it’s listed under the quiz title.

  1. Log into eCentennial
  2. Click Quizzes in the top bar.
  3. Click the title of the quiz you would like to take. You will be taken to the homepage of that quiz.
  4. Click Start Quiz!
  5. Click OK on the popup box. If you do not want to take the quiz, click Cancel instead.
  6. Answer the questions. Make sure to save your responses by clicking Save underneath each question.
  7. When you are finished, click Go to Submit Quiz.

Assignments given by the instructor can be uploaded to eCentennial using Dropbox. Dropbox checks your assignments for plagiarism and sends them to your instructor.

  1. On your dashboard, click Dropbox in the top bar.
  2. Find the title of the assignment you would like to submit and press it.
  3. Press Add a File.
  4. Find the file you want to add to your computer and click Choose.
  5. Add any comments in the Comments text box.
  6. Press Submit.

If your assignment is graded but does not have any specific feedback, you can view your marks using the “Grades” page.

  1. On your dashboard, click Grades in the top bar.
  2. Your grades will be displayed by assignment and will show the points achieved, the weight achieved, and the letter grade.

myCentennial is the student portal or a hub for everything at Centennial College. You can access eCentennial, myApplication, Office 365 email, myCard, My Timetable and change your password.

The new Centennial College Mobile App, available for iOS and Android, provides access to your schedule, grades, eCentennial, myCentennial College events, and more. 

Your course schedule will be available on the app with the touch of a button, and you’ll have maps of each of your campuses to find your way there. If you want to know how your last test went, you’ll be able to look at your final grades on the app as well.

To chane your ecentennial password, follow the steps below;

Changing your ecentennial password can be done via the myCentennial dashboard.

  1. Login to myCentennial.
  2. Click on “My Account” in the top left corner of the webpage.
  3. Under the “Change password” section, enter the following:

  • Enter your current password in the “Current password” field.

13. HOW TO GET YOUR MYCARD

Once you have uploaded your photo to https://myphoto.centennialcollege.ca/ and you receive an approval email of your picture (in your my.centennialcollege.ca email) Your myCard can be picked up at the campus you have selected by checking the myCard Pick Up Schedule at https://www.centennialcollege.ca/student-life/mycard/mycard-schedules/. Please make sure to bring government ID when picking up your myCard.

14. HOW YOUR MYCARD WORKS

Your myCard is the best and fastest way to pay for college essentials and services at all Centennial Campuses. You can load General Dollars with Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover or Interac, check your account balance and view your transaction history online.

14.1 ADDING FUNDS

Cardholders, parents, guardians, friends and family can all add funds to a Centennial College myCard account at any time, day or night, by logging on to the secure Centennial College myCard website. Funds can be added to a card online using Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover or Interac online. The minimum deposit is $5.00. All myCard account funds are in Canadian dollars.

14.2 GENERAL DOLLARS

General Dollars are for anyone on campus, including students, employees and campus partners. They're the flexible alternative to carrying cash. Fast and convenient, all you need to do is tap 'n' go. It works the same as a debit card, but without transaction costs and monthly fees. You can add General Dollars to your card at any time all year. General Dollars are accepted at all campus myCard locations and are the only method of payment for printing and photocopying services on campus.

14.3 MANAGING YOUR ACCOUNT

You can access your account history and print statements at any time from the myCard website at mycard.centennialcollege.ca or by using the TouchNet OneCard app on your mobile device. You can also print myCard receipts when using your card to make purchases, and if you’re not sure what your balance is while paying for something, you can ask for an account inquiry at any on-campus retail or food service location that accepts the myCard. Cardholders have access to features on mycard.centennialcollege.ca that include:

  • Account Information - will show your contact information, your ID photo, your groups and categories, and whether your card is activated or deactivated. 
  • Financial - Will show you your balance, your linked accounts, a history of your transactions, a current statement and your last statement 
  • Add Funds - Deposit General Dollars to your myCard using Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover or Interac Debit.
  • Log Out - Cardholders who have logged in to use the site should log out when transactions are completed.
  • Deactivate Card - To protect funds on your account, use this feature to deactivate your ID card so that no one can use your card for purchases. If found, your card can be reactivated on the website or by contacting the myCard Office at the Progress Campus – Student Hub, C Block – Second Floor, Room C-203. If your card remains lost, a replacement card can be obtained by visiting the myCard Office Progress Campus – Student Hub, C Block – Second Floor, Room C-203, or Enrolment Services (Morningside, Ashtonbee and Story Arts Centre).
  • Parental Deposit - Parents can visit mycard.centennialcollege.ca to access the myCard site, then click the "Parental Deposit" link in the left-side menu to deposit General Dollars to your student's myCards using Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover or Interac Debit. Parents do not need to log in first. Parents will require a student number and the student’s date of birth to deposit funds. Parents do not have access to financial statements, card balances or transaction history. They can only deposit funds. Upon successful completion of a deposit, a receipt will be emailed to the email address entered on the payment page.

14.4 STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO ADDING FUNDS

  1. Login to mycard.centennialcollege.ca using your ID number and myCentennial password.
  2. Select the "Add Funds" tab in the top right corner.
  3. Enter the email address where you would like your receipt sent to.
  4. Enter the amount of deposit (minimum $5.00).
  5. Add a "Deposit Note" if you choose. Click "Continue."
  6. Choose the payment method and enter payment details in required fields. Click "Process Transaction."

14.5 REFUNDS AND DISPUTES

Your Centennial College myCard is built to last the entire time you are at Centennial. However, stress and torque on the card can affect the antennae, wiring, or chips that are embedded into the card, so take these steps to protect your card, since there’s a fee to replace it.

Do:
Keep your myCard safe.
Clean your myCard with a soft, non-scratching cloth and water.

Don't:
  • Lend your myCard to others. Your card is to be used only by you.
  • Punch a hole in your myCard.
  • Place your myCard near a magnetic field, computer or cell phone.
  • Expose your myCard to electrostatic discharge (static electricity).
  • Leave your myCard in direct sunlight, such as on the dash of a car.
  • Expose your Centennial College myCard to extreme heat or open flame, like a clothes dryer.
  • Machine-wash your myCard.
  • Use your Centennial College myCard as an ice scraper or scraping tool.
  • Bend, crimp or twist your myCard. Card readers can’t read bent or cracked cards.

Why do I need a myCard?

Your myCard is your official photo identification, an access card for Centennial College and a wide variety of services. The benefits of this card include savings, convenience, flexibility and security.

How do I check my account balance and/or add funds?

Balances and transactions can be viewed by logging in at mycard.centennialcollege.ca and selecting the “Financial” link. Your balance will appear as a General Dollar amount.

Who can add funds to myCard?

Family and friends can add funds to any Centennial myCard by visiting mycard.centennialcollege.ca and using the Parental Deposit link. They will require the student's date of birth and student number to deposit funds. Those who wish to add funds to a student’s myCard can also call the office at 416-289-5255 for assistance in making a deposit.

What happens if I still have funds on myCard at the end of the term or when I leave Centennial

Funds remaining on your general balance account at the end of the academic term will automatically roll over to the next term. If you are leaving Centennial or graduating, you may request a refund at the end of the term. All refund requests are subject to a $50 processing fee. To apply for a refund, visit the myCard Office and refer to the full refund details in the myCard Terms and Conditions. Inactive accounts If your myCard remains inactive for a period of three (3) calendar years, it will be deactivated by the myCard Office as of December 31, and the $50.00 administration fee will be applied. The remaining balance will be transferred to your Centennial College account, at which point Centennial College financial procedures will apply to any remaining funds.

Why is there a $5.00 minimum deposit for myCard?

In order to keep our promise of "no fee transactions," we require a minimum of a $5.00 deposit to reduce credit card fees which will help to offset credit card fees back to the myCard Office. If I make a deposit to myCard online with a credit card, is it considered a purchase or a cash advance? Deposits to myCard accounts are always processed as purchases.

Can myCard go into a negative balance?

Yes, it is possible for your account to go into a negative balance if the system is "offline." Under normal circumstances, the system will not allow a transaction to go through if there are not enough funds in your account. You may use your myCard to make purchases where accepted, provided funds are available in your myCard account. You are liable for all purchases that exceed the funds available in your myCard account.

Can I withdraw money from my myCard account?

Cash withdrawals are not allowed.

What if my myCard doesn't work?

Bring your card to the myCard Office or contact us by phone at (416) 289-5255 or email at mycard@centennialcollege.ca.

I can't upload my photo. What should I do?

New students: To upload a photo, please make sure you have paid or deferred your fees, then wait 2-3 business days before you upload your photo.
International Students: Please make sure you have shown your study permit to the international office, then wait 2-3 business days before you upload your photo.

What if I lose myCard?

If your myCard is lost or stolen, you must deactivate your card to protect your balance by visiting mycard.centennialcollege.ca and using the "Deactivate Card" feature. Once deactivated, get a replacement card by heading to the myCard Office (Progress Campus) or Enrolment Services (Morningside, Ashtonbee and Story Arts Campuses). A new card will be given to you for a replacement fee. Enrolment Services accepts cash, debit, MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Discover. The myCard Office accepts debit, MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Discover, but no cash.

If I lose my card, do I lose the money I have in my account?

No. Your funds remain on your account, which you will be able to access with a replacement card. Please note that lost myCards must be reported immediately so that no one can access your account without your knowledge, and you are responsible for any charges to you myCard account prior to you deactivating it.

How do I take care of my myCard?

Keep your Centennial College myCard safe. A fee will be charged to replace a lost or damaged card. Clean your Centennial College myCard with a soft, non-scratching cloth and water.

Why did the price change?

Previously, when you topped up your Pay4Print account, the tax was charged at the time of purchase, and the print prices excluded tax. Under the new system, when you top up your myCard account, the tax is not charged in advance. Instead, the print prices have been adjusted to include tax at the time a print is made.
