#2. Where can I find my student ID number?

In order to use NC State systems and perform actions like password resets, you'll need your nine-digit Student/Campus ID number.

It is possible to find your student ID number if you can't remember it or if you don't have your Wolfpack One Card.

It is expected that newly admitted undergraduate students would see an Account Information tab that includes the Student ID when they log-in and view their decision in WolfPAW.

The Student ID can be found on the Advising Dashboard for students who have already been enrolled in the university and can login to MyPack Portal.

#3. How to activate Parents Account Access

In order for your parents to be able to see your information, you must reactivate a parent account that you have previously deactivated.

In MyPack Portal, you have the option to grant them access.

1. Log in to the MyPack Portal.
2. On your Student Homepage, go to Personal Information > Parent & Guardian Access.
3. Make sure you select the correct Account under the Relationships with a Parental Portal Account section.
4. Make sure your parent has only the access you want them to have by adjusting the permissions.
5. Select Activate Access from the drop-down menu that appears. Keep in mind that simply altering the permissions will not allow you access. If you don't do this, you won't have access.
6. Then click Send Confirmation. The status of their access will change from Removed to Pending after you activate it.

#4. How to login to MyPack Portal with a Parent/Guardian account 

A parent account can be created at any time by your student. You can log in as a parent or guardian by following the instructions below (after the student has created the account).

1. Go to the MyPack Portal page to get started.
2. For NCSU Parents and Guests, choose the black NC State logo.
3. Your email address and password are required to log in. When your child created a MyPack Portal parent account, then use the email address they registered for you.
4. Click on LOG IN.

Each student is given a unique Unity ID consisting of up to 8 characters of letters and/or numbers. Your first and middle initials are followed by up to six letters from your last name, but if it has already been assigned to someone else, the last characters may be changed with numbers.

Using your Unity ID, you can access the MyPack Portal and your NC State Google email account without having to create new credentials.

#6. How to Reset your Unity Password

To restore access to your Unity account if you're having trouble logging in with your Unity username and/or password, you can try doing a password reset. Your password can be reset in two ways: by resetting it and then creating a new one.

1. Go to the Reset Password page.
2. Afterwards, enter  your username then click submit to send your username.
3. Select Submit after answering the security question.

Your password would be reset to its default value if you were able to successfully answer your question. The current password field on the password change form will be filled up with this default value.

If you have a Campus ID number (aka Employee ID or Student ID Number), the last four digits of that number, followed by your two-digit birth month and two-digit birthdate, your default password is an 8-digit number. You can use the default password for 30 minutes to create a new password.

NOTE: You must change your password from the default if you want to access any NC State services with your current credentials.

#7. Change Your Password? Here's How!

It is necessary to generate a new password because the system does not permit the reuse of previous passwords. In addition to password requirements, strong password recommendations are also offered in this guide.

1. Go to Password Reset Form
2. Enter your Unity Username 
3. You can use your default password for Current Password.
4. In the New Password field, type in your new password and save.
5. In the section labeled "Confirm New Password," enter the new password you just created.
6. Then click Submit.

In approximately a minute, you should receive a notice stating that your password change was successful. Make any required changes to your new password and resubmit if you see any problem messages.

It may take up to an hour for your password change to propagate across all platforms. The new password should work right away on the MyPack Portal or any other Shibboleth login, but it may take up to 10 minutes for the change to appear in your NC State Gmail. Please wait 10 minutes before retrying your Gmail password if it doesn't work.

#8. How to Reset Your WolfPaw Account Password

For undergraduate applicants to NC State University, you can log into your WolfPAW account to check your application status or submit extra evidence.

If you're having trouble logging into your WolfPaw account, please refer to the steps below.

1. Visit the WolfPaw login page.
2. Log in by clicking on Forgot Password
3. Enter the email address you used when submitting your application in the Email Address: box.

Do You Need to Reset Your NCSU Unity ID Password?

Everyone knows that periodically you will be asked to change your NCSU unity ID  password. But do you know what to do if you are entering your password and the system keeps telling you that the password is incorrect? Or what do you do if the password manager that you use is not working for some reason and you don’t have that complex password memorized? Or worst case scenario, what do you do if you simply cannot remember your password and are not using a password manager that you can retrieve it? 

These are all scenarios in which a password reset would be necessary. Anytime you have an issue with your current NCSU unity ID password, often times the only solution is to reset the password. Here are the steps you should follow: 

1. Reset your password using the self-service tool. 
2. You should see a ‘reset password’ link beside More. Select the link and you will be prompted to enter your unity ID. 
3. After you enter your unity ID, you will be asked to answer one of your 2-factor security questions. 
4. If you do not remember the answers to your questions, you’ll need to contact OIT at 919-515-4357 or help@ncsu.edu. 
5. You’ll then have 30 minutes to change your password from the default password (which will now be the ‘current’ password). 
6. Go back to the self-service tool to change it. Your eight-digit default password consists of the last four digits of your Employee ID number plus your birth month and day, both entered as two-digit numbers. Example: For an Employee ID of 123456789 and a birth date of May 6, the default password would be 67890506.
